Craig Owens Bodo Trio: She’s So Poplar

The tunes on this recording come from different periods in the Bodo chronology. Brahmaputra Swing comes from the trio with Jeff Stidham and Seth Carrithers. Zanjan talks its title from a village in Iran in which there was an attack made upon followers of the Bab in 1850. Antigua Holiday refers to the Caribbean island and came into being on gigs with the late mandolinist Gary Paulsmeier. She’s So Poplar was featured with the Hatfield/Bishop/Dobbins(Caldwell) band as well as Dale Black/Whitmore/Williams. Every song has a story just as in the life of every individual.
